Shifter, Liam Doyle knows Hell. At least he believed he did. The night he feels his mate die, he learns how very wrong he was. Nothing he’d struggled with since Ava’s rejection compares to the emptiness that fills his soul by her death. Lost in his grief, he’s taken by surprise and drugged.  When he wakes, everything changes. Nothing is what it seems, and someone is dead set on making him pay.

When Ava Michaels is taken captive, she’s thrust into a dark and terrifying world along with the man she was forced to leave behind. While being near Liam again is heartbreaking, the motive behind her kidnapping is gradually revealed. The more she learns, the more she worries Liam isn’t the man she believed him to be. He has enemies willing to do anything to extract their revenge. Can their love survive a crazy man’s vengeance?

GUEST POST BY ABBY NILES:

I’m a sucker for the paranormal genre. Books, TV shows, movies, I love them all. If a trailer for an upcoming film has any supernatural/paranormal aspect to it, I’m sold. Usually…I will admit to being a HUGE wuss to the ghost side of the paranormal. That stuff freaks me out. It didn’t use to, but it seems like the older I get the more I can’t handle those scary type of paranormal movies anymore. Anyone else like that?

Some movie trailers just miss the mark for me and I think, “Huh, that’s just looks dumb.” But every once in a while one pops up that stops everything, make my attention zero in on the TV, and creates that anticipation that make me HAVE to see the movie. Here are few that did that for me this year.

Beautiful Creatures

My attention was grabbed the moment the windows shattered in the classroom. This entire trailer called to every bit of paranormal lover in me. Good versus evil, dark versus light, and forbidden love. As soon as I was able to, I saw this movie. And like I expected, I loved it. I have the books on my TBR list and I’m just looking for the time in my schedule to really sit down and get lost in them. I have no doubt I will get lost in them.

Warm Bodies

I loved the different take on zombies with this one, and this is coming from a Walking Dead fanatic. One thing I really appreciated about this trailer was the humor. I knew I would be able to take my kids to see this one and share my love for zombies with them without it terrifying the ever-loving crap out of them. They’ve come trotting downstairs before while I was watching The Walking Dead after they were supposed to be in bed for the night. Yeah…their reaction wasn’t pretty nor was the rest of the night.

Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

I haven’t seen this one! It just came out, but I’m dying to see it. It’s one of those “who can I coerce into going to see it with me.” Being single can really suck sometimes, especially when there is a movie I’d really like to see. LOL. This is another series that has been added to TBR though. I wasn’t even aware of these books until I saw the trailer for the movie, but I really want to read them now too.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

Every once in a while I will come across a trailer like this for the much younger crowd. My kids are still at that age where they love animated movies, which I am fine with because I love them, but they are still VERY iffy on live action type movies. If it’s a superhero, I’m good to go with the boy, but once we start involving monsters, witches, and really intense action scenes, I’m treading into “flip-out” territory. Warm Bodies I got lucky with because of the humor aspect. Once they saw it was funny and the zombies weren’t scary, everything was good. But I wouldn’t be able to take them to see Mortal Instruments or Beautiful Creatures because it would be too much for them. My daughter would be flapping her arms and trying to take flight throughout the entire movie, while my son would pull his shirt over his head. The trailer for Percy Jackson was a “yes!” preview for me. I knew I’d be able to take the kids to see this one and they wouldn’t freak out. And they didn’t. It was the perfect amount of suspense, humor and paranormal for their age.

So what previews have you seen that have you all excited?

About this Author:

Ever since Abby Niles picked up her first Sweet Valley High book in sixth grade and fell in love with Elizabeth and Todd, she’s been hooked on romance. By the time she reached high school, she was devouring meatier romances with pirates, cowboys and knights. She never imagined that those years of reading would one day lead to her becoming a published author.

In her late twenties, after having twins and becoming a stay-at-home mom, she started doodling stories to keep her sanity. Next thing she knew, she was actually submitting to publishing houses. And was immediately rejected. That didn’t stop her though. She found herself some kickass critique partners, honed her craft, and continued submitting.

And eventually sold a short story, then a novella, then a novel, and now a series.

Today, she juggles work, home life, and writing. It’s not always easy, but hey, who said life was easy?

In her downtime, which isn’t often, you can find her playing ‘Just Dance’ with her kids or trying to catch up on her never-ending to-be-read list. She also loves Zumba, and refuses to admit she looks more like Animal doing his Muppet flail than a sensual Latin dancer.
